Dr Emma Townsend

Clinical Psychologist

Emma is a Clinical Psychologist who supports individuals across the lifespan through person-centred assessments and therapy, using evidence-based psychological interventions. She believes everyone is worthy and is committed to helping clients make sense of their difficulties. 

Emma integrates approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills, and Systemic Therapy, tailoring these to each person’s needs. She currently works within the NHS supporting children and young people with autism who are experiencing mental health challenges. 

Emma holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of East Anglia (2020), an MSc in Clinical Forensic Psychology from King’s College London (2014), and a BSc in Psychology from the University of Exeter (2012). Her specialist areas include anxiety, depression, complex trauma/PTSD, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and ADHD, stress, self-harm, and relationship or interpersonal difficulties.
