Dr. Mukhaimar is a highly experienced psychologist with both local and international expertise in treating a broad range of psychological difficulties. His eclectic approach—as a clinician, supervisor, and trainer—allows him to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel empowered to explore their challenges and work toward meaningful change. He has a particular interest in working with trauma-related issues, depression, low self-esteem, and anxiety disorders.
Dr. Mukhaimar offers therapy, training, and supervision in both English and Arabic. In his practice, both within the NHS and privately, he draws on a range of evidence-based therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT, accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and third-wave CBT approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). He also incorporates Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT). His key areas of interest include PTSD, complex trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, low self-esteem, interpersonal difficulties, and acculturative stress.
